Cradle of Life launches digital platform to bring breastfeeding support to mothers
WITH over 250 mothers already supported, international board-certified lactation consultant Simeca Alexander Williamson has taken her mission online, breaking down barriers of distance, cost, and culture.
For many mothers, accessing trusted breastfeeding guidance has long meant overcoming barriers of geography, cost, and availability. Cradle of Life Limited, the Jamaican maternal care organisation founded by Williamson, is changing that with the launch of its new Cradle of Life Skool Space, a digital learning platform designed to put expert maternal care within reach of every mother, wherever she is.
The Skool platform offers a growing library of practical, culturally grounded courses, including breastfeeding prep for third-trimester moms, pumping techniques, feeding therapy, and weaning guidance. Beyond courses, the platform fosters a members-only community where mothers can connect, share, and continue learning together.
“Not everyone can move from where they are physically, and so this online platform is perfect. I also know not everyone can afford one-on-one consultations and so I wanted to create a safe, credible, accessible and affordable option for mothers across all socio-economic backgrounds to get practical and authentic information about breastfeeding,” Williams said. “If you can’t book a consultation but need guidance from someone who looks like you or shares your cultural lived experiences, these courses are for you.”
The platform launch was announced at Cradle of Life’s third annual mommy retreat held last month, where 10 expectant and new mothers gathered for a day of relaxation, education, and community. Sessions included infant CPR, prenatal pilates, a postpartum relationship workshop, and a hands-on breastfeeding workshop. The retreat was made possible through the support of sponsors and partners committed to whole-person maternal care.
The announcement also coincided with Cradle of Life’s recognition as a grand prize winner in the Development Bank of Jamaica’s Boost Her Biz Competition 2025. Cradle of Life was one of only two winners selected from over 100 women-led businesses islandwide securing J$1 million to further its mission.
Founded in 2021, Cradle of Life Limited has grown into a trusted maternal care brand offering lactation consulting, retreats, and now digital support through Skool — with an expanding reach across the Caribbean and diaspora.
