Anderson boots home double to take season tally to 23
APPRENTICE rider Jaheim Anderson continued his fine form on Saturday, August 15, 2026, booting home two winners on the 10-race card at Caymanas Park to move his season tally to 23.
The young rider struck first aboard Native Alliance for trainer Paul Sawby in Race 3, before returning in the 10th and final event to guide Linguist to victory for trainer Anthony “Baba” Nunes.
Native Alliance’s victory came in the Restricted Allowance V contest for native-bred five-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported five-year-olds and upward (maidens) over 7 furlongs (1,400m).
A five-year-old bay horse, Native Alliance ( Successful Native – Water Wave) made one move to win the race by 3½ lengths ahead of Secret Mission (Emelio McLean) and Planner (Richie Shakes). The winning time was 1:30.3 (24.3 x 48.3 x 1:16.0).
Linguist ( Aveenu Malcainu – Bilingual) was an easy 3½ length winner in the $1.25-million Trevor McKenzie Memorial Trophy, an Overnight Allowance race for three-year-olds and upward over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.
A four-year-old bay filly, Linguist won ahead of RicoRicoRico (Shaheem Gordon) and She’s That Girl (Dane Dawkins) in a quick 58.0 (22.4 x 45.1).
