Crown Court goes one better with 4¾-length maiden win
CROWN Court (Conquest Cherimash – Black Bombshell) went one better on Saturday, August 15, 2026 following a 2½-length second placing to Golden Ambassador on August 1.
The Gary Subratie-conditioned colt captured the native-bred three-year-old maiden over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) by 4¾ lengths in a time of 1:58.4. Fractions were 26.0 x 49.4 x 1:14.4 x 1:43.0.
Ridden by Reyan Lewis, Crown Court settled in third behind El Capiton (Tyrese Anderson) and Revelation (Jordan Barrett) around the clubhouse turn and onto the main track. He maintained his gallop well down the backstretch before slipping into second approaching the half-mile turn as El Capiton opened up on the field.
In deep stretch, as El Capiton began to shorten, Lewis angled Crown Court to the outside and the colt responded, powering home easily. El Capiton held on for second, with D.O.K (Shane Richardson) finishing third.
