3 Times As Nice – Triple T’z Eatery

Food

It was a dream that stemmed simply from the love of food. Takeyce Russell, a university student studying hospitality and tourism management, wanted to open her very own café. And with the assistance of her grandparents, Yvonne and Errol Anderson, her dreams were realised.

In April 2010 the eatery was born, garnering its name from the Andersons’ son Troy, and their granddaughters Taylor and Takeyce — the triple Ts.

Located on the corner of Annette Crescent and Upper Waterloo Road, Triple T’z Eatery sells a variety of local cuisine. Chefs Steven Henry and Remoah Nelson whip up delectable servings of curry goat, oxtail, brown stew fish and roast pork, as well as vegetarian dishes and seafood done to order. And they don’t simply serve lunch. Triple T’z opens as early as 7:00 am with a menu consisting of your favourite Jamaican breakfasts — mackerel rundown, liver, kidney, callaloo, ackee, corned pork, each with ample portions of plantain, dumplings or ‘food’.

Home-made cornbread, potato and bread puddings, and carrot cake are also available, in addition to coconut water and freshly made juices such as guava, June plum, cucumber, carrot and sorrel. And for your convenience, there are indoor and outdoor dining options.

During the week and on Saturdays the restaurant closes at 7:00 pm. But on Fridays they celebrate Crab Night, playing music and staying open until midnight. In time, they hope to also open on Sundays for brunch, adding yet another service for their customers who share a love for food, just as they do.

Visit Triple T’z Eatery at 25 Annette Crescent, Kingston 10. Telephone (876) 260-0042
