12th Reggae Marathon runs off tomorrow
THE 12th staging of the Reggae Marathon runs off morning at five o’clock in the morning with over 1,000 participants.
Athletes will be running in the 26 mile full marathon; the 13 mile half marathon and the 10 kilometre, while others may walk the distance.
The marathon will have an international flavour with runners from the United States, Canada, Germany and other countries. Various companies will have athletes representing them.
The course will be lined with drummers, sound boxes and car stereos as reggae music fills the air.
Race co-ordinator Alfred Francis told the Jamaica Observer that “This 12th staging is very special as we have a number of overseas runners participating.
“The spirit in Negril is high as they have rallied all forces together to make this another successful marathon.”
