2 J’cans among 3 held in Curacao ganja bust
WILLEMSTAD, Curacao — Two Jamaicans were arrested after a major drug bust in Curacao, the Curacao Chronicle is reporting.
A dash-patrol aircraft of that country’s Coast Guard reportedly discovered, at 40 nautical miles northwest of the island, a suspicious go-fast boat this week. The Curacao Chronicle reported that the team sent boats from both Curacao and Aruba to inspect the suspected vessel.
The Coast Guard officers reportedly found three crewmembers on the boat — two Jamaicans and a Dutch citizen who resides in Curacao.
The officers also found a considerable quantity of drugs.
The boat and its crew were reportedly transferred to the Coast Guard in Parera, after which the crew was handed over to the police.
The Curacao Chronicle reported that after further inspection, officers found that there were 32 bales of marijuana with a total weight of 398 kilos.
