Second man arrested in drug bust at Kingston terminal
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Another man has been formally charged in relation to the seizure of 4083 pounds of compressed ganja at a shipping terminal in Kingston on Wednesday, January 24, police from the Narcotics division have reported.
He has been identified as 39-year-old Silvan Brown and he has been charged with the possession of ganja; dealing in ganja; taking steps preparatory to export ganja use of conveyance and conspiracy.
According to police reports, Brown was arrested during an operation in Meadowbrook, St Andrew over the weekend.
During the operation, police stated, a sum of money was seized under the proceeds of crime act.
Formal charges were laid under the Dangerous Drugs Act after he was interviewed in the presence of his Attorney-at-law.
He is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.
Brown is the second man arrested in connection with the drug bust.
