Reggae Girlz hunt win against St Lucia
Jamaica’s
Reggae Girlz are once again expected to overrun their Group B rivals St Lucia
and continue their easy passage in the Caribbean Football Union round of
matches in the Olympic Games qualifiers at the National Stadium.
The
match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm with the United States Virgin Islands
battling Cuba in the opener at 4:00 pm.
The
Reggae Girlz have trounced Cuba 12-1 and Barbados 7-0 and all indications are
that St Lucia will also get a thrashing.
The
Reggae Girlz, playing one match less, lead the group on goal difference over
Cuba, as both are on six points with the Reggae Girlz having a healthy goal
difference of 18 and Cuba on zero.
They
are followed by St Lucia and Barbados. They have three points with goal difference
also separating them as the United States Virgin Islands are yet to secure a
point.
The
Reggae Girlz will separate themselves at the top of the points standing with a
victory, which should be an easy task, as St Lucia have only defeated the US
Virgin Islands, while losing to Cuba and Barbados, both of which Jamaica easily
dismissed.
The
Reggae Girlz are looking to top the Group B of the CFU round, to qualify for a
spot in the CONCACAF round of the qualifiers, where they will join giants the
United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
Also
joining the CONCACAF round will be the winners of the two other CFU groups as
well as the qualifiers from Central America.
