NCBJ says it has won multiple international banking awards
KINGSTON, Jamaica — NATIONAL Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) says it has received several international banking awards in 2026, including recognition from The Banker, Global Finance Magazine, JP Morgan and Capital Finance International.
The bank said Friday that The Banker ranked it number one in Jamaica for profitability, operational efficiency, return on risk, liquidity and overall banking performance.
NCBJ was also named Best Bank — Jamaica 2026, Best FX Bank — Jamaica 2026 for the eighth consecutive year, and Best Trade Finance Provider — Jamaica 2026 by Global Finance Magazine.
The bank also received JP Morgan’s Elite Quality Recognition Award 2026 for its straight-through processing rates, a measure of how efficiently payments are processed without manual intervention.
NCBJ said the awards recognise performance in areas including foreign exchange access, cross-border trade support, banking reliability and service delivery.
The bank said the Best FX Bank award reflected its performance in foreign exchange liquidity, digital execution and structured solutions, with $8 billion in FX activity across major currencies.
Capital Finance International also named NCBJ Trusted Partner in Retail and Corporate Finance Leadership — Caribbean 2026, recognising the bank’s role in supporting retail and corporate customers across the region.
Sheree Martin, interim CEO of NCBJ, said the awards reflected the bank’s ongoing transformation.
“These awards are meaningful because they are independently determined and grounded in performance, discipline, and impact,” Martin said. “They reflect the trust our customers place in us, the strength of our team, and our continued focus on building a bank that delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes.”
Martin said NCBJ remains focused on building a stronger and more resilient bank for Jamaica and the wider region.
“At a time when global benchmarking matters more than ever, our performance demonstrates that a Jamaican institution can compete, lead and be recognised on the world stage,” she said.
