Lacovia main road blocked
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth – Residents of Lacovia, St Elizabeth have blocked the main road in protest of the recent police killing of three men at Petersfield in Westmoreland.
The dead men, who lived at the Shrewsbury Housing Scheme, Westmoreland were identified as 28-year-old firefighter Andrew Brydson, his brother Triston Brydson, 24, and their cousin, 38-year-old chef Kingsley Green.
According reports the men are originally from the Lacovia community.
Police say they were killed during a shootout, and that a pistol and rifle were seized after the incident. But Petersfield residents insist that the police are lying, and claim that the men were killed in cold blood. The Independent Commission of Investigation is conducting a probe.
