Brother and sister charged in Tower Hill murders
The woman and her brother who were earlier this week taken into custody in relation to the murder of 29-year-old Kashief Jackson and her two children in Tower Hill, St Andrew last Wednesday have been charged.
The police’s information arm, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), yesterday evening identified the siblings as 27-year-old Jamelia Leslie, a lab technician quality control supervisor, and 26-year-old Javone Leslie a construction worker, both of Guava Ridge in Mavis Bank, St Andrew.
They have been charged with three counts of murder, arson and burglary and should appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on August 2.
Jackson’s body, along with those of one-year-old Aviere Williams and seven-day-old Aranza Williams, was found by relatives in the house which Jackson shared with her partner, 42-year-old Artnel Williams.
The police reported that the children died from smoke inhalation while Jackson died from stab wounds.
Residents in the small community on the outskirts of Mavis Bank said that the mother was found clutching the week-old girl to her bosom, while the boy, Aviere, who would have marked his second birthday next month, was found in a blue bath pan a few feet from his mother and sister.
Residents allege that Jackson was in the middle of a love triangle.
On Tuesday night the CCU also confirmed that the arrested woman has a four-year-old son for the slain woman’s boyfriend, who last Friday confirmed the allegation, explaining that he had been in a relationship with the accused before Jackson had into the picture. Since then the women have been at odds even though they had never seen each other face to face, Williams said.
