Reggae Girlz lead Barbados 5-0 at half time of Olympic qualifiers
Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz were leading Barbados 5-0 at half time of their Caribbean Football Union’s Group B Olympic Qualifier at the National Stadium.
A double strikes from Sashana Campbell in the second and 23rd minutes and Trudi Carter in the 33rd and 36th and an own goal by defender Tia Brigg-Thompson provided Jamaica with the half-time lead.
The Jamaicans are looking to overtake Cuba at the top of the group’s points standing. Cuba defeated United States Virgin Island 6-0 earlier to move to six points.
The Jamaicans are on three points and a victory against Barbados will see them overtaking Cuba at the top on goal difference.
Cuba have also played three matches with Jamaica playing two.

During the first half, Jamaica controlled the action for the entirety and should have led by a wider margin had they converted the simple scoring chances they had. They were also denied a number of times by Barbados’ goalkeeper Cadijah Mars.
