Robinson stages back-to-school health fair for 10th year
JUST under 150 adults and children benefited from the annual back-to-school health fair staged by St Andrew South Eastern Member of Parliament Julian Robinson last Saturday at Nanyville Health Centre.
Robinson, who has hosted the fair for the past 10 years, said the beneficiaries were not only his constituents, but residents from neighbouring constituencies.
“I think it fills an important gap for a lot of people who need to get the medical service but can’t necessarily afford it, and so many people look forward to this — both the adults and students,” Robinson told the Jamaica Observer. He said the fair provided school supplies to students, as well as medical checks that they need for the new academic year, while adults received vital screening.
“I hope that the new school year will go smoothly. Relatively speaking, we haven’t been affected by Hurricane Beryl so I think all schools should be open on time without any major issues,” the veteran MP said.
